Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

  1. You might get a disposable dog mess pad to put in the basket when Fernando needs to travel. We had a cat that did that the last time he had been at the vet (he was only getting a flea med checkup) and a disposable mat would have been a godsend!

  2. I Enjoy seeing all you're doing to make your life and home the best place for you. I also love to watch your land and its beauty. Love your animals! You should try to find more of them to save, and to help keep your land free of weeds and mowed, lol.

  3. I hear that it does get hot in central Portugal. Here is a tip that will work good for you since you don't have to buy water. You have clay tiles on the roof, so use water evaporation right on the roof by intermittently wetting the roof with water. The idea is that the majority of the cooling does not come from the cool water, but from the evaporation of the water. I have seen inexpensive automatic watering controllers that be adjusted to give a 5 minute on and 60 minutes off, for instance.

  4. Bee please don’t listen to the people who hate themselves with their negative opinions. Your beautiful smile and your beautiful self is enjoyable in every video. I enjoy listening to you and watching all your videos that you and Theo put out. Much ❤️❤️ to the 2 of you.

  5. Bee, that meal is perfect! Would you share how you made your pickled onions? They look amazing 😋😊
And Theo, a great treat of a set up. You two are so ingenious ❣
I love all the different wild flowers, can you eat some of them as well? Because I know some are healthy. 🌼

  6. Bea, you are a beautiful person inside and outside. You have a beautiful face and a contagious smile. Don't let anyone tell you that you don't. You and Theo are the most honest and authentic couple I have seen on YouTube. I have enjoyed every moment of your journey. Sandy from Lancaster Pennsylvania, USA

  7. You should take care of air-conditioning in the barn now BEFORE the unbearable heat hits. There are floor units you can order. It sounds as if a standard fan will not work for you in a Portuguese heat of summer.

  8. Another enjoyable video! You intoduced me to a really fun cultural item . building a summer kitchen! I loved watching the parts go together! But Bea whwn you made that delicious meal . oh me i coild almost smell it cooking!!! It looked sooooooo yummy! I also love how you are using pieces of wood you have leftover to build new things! That was a great design of a cabinet you made for the new oven Theo! Did your parents go home yet Theo?

  9. So excited to see the outdoor kitchen episode and how it came about! Others may have mentioned this, but I would be careful of the sun shining directly on the gas canister. May need a sun protection element. Your veggies are really growing and all look so yummy! Thank you for sharing your journey!

  10. I just love watching your progress by way of videos…thanks. You most probably do it; but I thought I would tell you how I grow 🍅 tomatoes 🫑 peppers 🌶 chillies. I take one of each and slice them up and putthem in pots. This year so far I have managed to get 120 tomatoe 🌱 plants out of one 🍅 tomato.
    😎🍷🚍⚓️🇬🇧

  11. Tip to help Fernando ease down on vet trip. You can buy a spray ( usually at vets ) that capms cats down. Spray it on a fabric which you cover the cage with he is in.

Wonderful project you guys! Inspiring. The best of luck to you! 💪❤️

  12. Love your videos and the idea of living off grid in our beautiful Portugal, it is the most beautiful country in the world after all 😉
Just subscribed to your channel after watching you for a while 😊
Big hug from a Portuguese family living in Australia and dreaming about the day we go back to that piece of paradise ❤️
