  1. Hi Jay , Sacha and story. It seems you are enjoying life fully in Siargao. You had gone thru a very difficult situations yet you had not giving up and true to the sayings that after the big storms there is always a bright ang beautiful skies. I always enjoy your blog and everyday stories. Story had grown brilliant and very beautiful in this tropical country. Thank you for sharing your life with the community and the Philiippines.

  2. I’ve had talks with my wife about building our own house in the Philippines, cost of living here and California is insane and I’ve notice children there are happier and more active. The west declining fast.

  3. I hope as a foreigner please understand the laws of property ownership. Don't trust anyone as Co owner of a property that you are going to own. Please aquire a Philippines citizenship. I'm a Filipino living abroad and own a couple of properties and it's not easy. Please be cautious. Good luck and God bless

  4. I'm an American living in Surigao with my new wifey..we have been watching all your blogs for over a year. We were also at Surigao dreams just about a week ago ..it would be cool to meet your family someday…

  5. If someone is interested to buy a piece of land (300sqm) in Siargao. It is not a beachfront but it is just 5mins away from the airport by car and and 15 mins away to the next beach. Bagacay is the name of the place the land is close to the main road.

  6. I missed the smoothie bowls in Siargao especially the mango and coconut puree on it. Living in Siargao and Surigao isn't cheap considering the prices of goods when you buy but it's peaceful here. No malls but people are so used to travelling to other cities to buy stuffs. Not bad at all.

  7. Yeheyyy!!!! So happy to hear you'll be having your daily vlogs… Wohooooo! Love you guys, thank you for choosing and loving filipinos and our country…. God bless you more and may the peace and protection of God be with always.

  8. I hope you can get titled land in Siargao…buying land with just a tax declaration is so tedious to get titled..ours is taking almost two years now. I hope you have someone there to assist you in doing the land background checks 🙂

  9. All of us perhaps your youtube friends are happy to know that your now on the idea of having a piece of land to have your own house/home in siargao..God bless your fam..hello story n poppy…hugs to you..

  10. Wow! So happy to hear it buying lot and build a house wow, way to go guys and I hope and pray that it will be realized soon thank you for liking our country specially in my native land love you guys!

  11. I am so glad to hear this news! you guys are my daily doze of happiness 🙂 But I don't want to pressure you guys but anyway I hope to see you guys one day 🙂 I really love your family even my 3yr old loves you guys and she really loves story 🙂

  12. Foreigners can't buy land in the Philippines. However, there are other ways you can own real properties in the Philippines. You can own a condominium unit subject to a 40% foreign ownership limit in a condominium corporation. Also, a foreigner may acquire land in the Philippines if he/she marries a Filipino citizen. Another is thru hereditary succession wherein the foreigner is a natural or legal heir. Watch out in your area if there is a domestic corporation, with a 40% foreign ownership, which is buying/selling lands thereat. That is the time you can buy LEGALLY from them. But Filipinos, to exclude those scrupolous individuals, are good-natured. Maybe some individuals will share their land to you but the ownership remains in the original owner. A trusted Filipino friend may buy the land for you but the title of the land will be his/hers. That's the legal repercussion. But laws have exceptions. Maybe a Deed of Donation of the land will do. Somehow, you can hold on to this document. And by the way, clam shells in those beaches are abundant. You may take some of those for decors. The only prohibition is when you're quarrying them for commercial purposes without paying taxes therefor.
