It’s time to hit Figueira da Foz, where Europe’s longest righthand pointbreak breaks uncrowded throughout wintertime. It’s the town that hosted World Tour events but, somehow, remains off the radar. It’s the beach escapade to the ancient student city of Coimbra. It’s the hometown of some of the most intriguing and interesting characters in Portuguese surfing. Welcome Figueira da Foz, the most underrated wave cluster in Portugal.

So it seems a fun/intersting/I think important chat exists ….localism is NOT my point. I live in Portugal and have a non-portuguese name too…..but I have respect of etiquette, learnt in SA and learnt properly, as NVR seems to for the waves that are respected in his videos…….? Where is that left in previous vid?, looks great and uncrowded……sounds great. Got coordinates??? Or should I share?
Subscribing here. Amazing!!!
Fantástico Nic a mostrar a beleza deste nosso cantinho Surf cultura educação turismo tradição gastronomia bem receber
VALORIZAR PORTUGAL
Kook showing some spots where there’s no crowd only to get views, is not even a real portuguese with his fucking german name
The Europes longest left is Mundaka
Travelled to Fig da Foz for surfing holidays in 1979/80/81 with my wife and we camped on the jetty at Cabedelo. We met John Berry there, he met Sylvie there and they got married and we visit them in Les Landes almost every year. We also met two families from Brittany and still exchange Christmas cards and messages. Thank you Figueira for providing us with lifelong friends.
Unbelievable. Blowing up spots just to keep his career as an “influencer” relevant and well funded.
Portugal is a amazing place. ❤ Portugal 😊
So rad your videos hit home keeping coming 🤙
Great backside attack Nic, thanks for sharing a bit more of your country 🙏🏻
Hope you can make it to Chile one day 🇨🇱
Figueira ❤ My family is from this area and Coimbra. Love it! Also Figueira da Foz is a nice city to explore, the food is good 🤙🏻
Where is this in Portugal
epic wonderful place to live perfect waves culture food enjoy!!!!!
Great video- sending to my pal who is moving to Portugal this year. I hope to visit, so this gives me stoke.
Figuera da Foz is a city with the most potential to be an awesome surf city and massive tourist destination that i have ever seen but actually its a bit of a dump and whoever is charge of running that city has no clue what they have in their hands !
Magnificent. Now subscribed.✅
Wow 8 years of surfing history!
👍
thanks for destroying another wave mate..
Selling out to that tourist money…Next it'll be, energy drinks, coffee, cbd oil and betting online…only mason ho hasn't sold out
Being a local who always surfed those waves, you Totally got the vibe of "my" city. I've lived in a lot of places, but nothing beats figueira in quality, crowd and city heritage. Thats the reason i got back after 15 years. Well done guys!
Parabéns, excelente trabalho! 💪🌊
Thanks for opening our eyes to the beauty and waves of Portugal.
Love that you did show Coimbre as well. You have a very unique culture in Portugal. The wave is nice as well, but seems like Tom doesn't like strangers in the line up. I do rather stay in Bali, we are are used to share with tourists and celebrate the way of life…I believe that you will always get the best conditions anyway as a "local". You have to there when it is on.
I love how you’re so proud of your country and it’s culture. You’re not just hung up on surfing but sharing what makes Portugal unique and beautiful. It seems like a lovely place to live and I can’t wait to visit ❤️🙏much love and respect from Japan
First surfed that zone in 1981. I remember first glimpse at the harbour mouth seeing a 'giant' right hander out there. Two people out that day. A Portuguese surfer paddled 100mt down the coast to shake my hand and greet me! Back again in 1986, lots more surfers – but not too many. My friend Tim and I had one board between us – An Aloha he brought from Sydney with him. We stayed in an awesome Pensao and surfed that beach corner 0:39 , alternating turns on the board. 'brigad.
Check spelling in your title.
Bom Dia!
Why is he getting towed into a six foot wave?
Thanks for the culture trip, as Portugal has so much . Amazing country .
Thanks for sharing Nic!
