THIS PLACE IS PARADISE | 6 days in Madeira Island, Portugal

Is Madeira the Hawaii of Europe? We spent about a week in Funchal, Madeira and had the most magical time. We’re sharing where to stay, how to get around, hiking spots, food tours, dolphin tours, and all other things you should do there. We went during the Madeira Flower Festival so we got to enjoy the beauties of that as well. We had the absolute best time and cannot wait to go back!

  1. Great video. We're heading off to Madeira in August. The only request iv got for you is that you include pricing for the various things that you did…like the food tour, dolphin tour, restaurants etc… It really helps knowing what pricing to expect 😁 Otherwise thanks

  2. I thought it was The Açores that were called the Hawaii of Portugal? Either way it's stunning! We have friends moving to Madeira in 6 months and we'll get to visit next year. 😍

  3. 100euros to rentcar for one day?
You guy`s don`t search for a cheaper rentcar….,you can rent car for 65euros , 45euros , all depends wisch car do you looking for….

  4. 100 euro per day it was very expensive to rent a car, you can get around 40 per day if you search a bit, i dont know on Cliff bay, but on other hotels you can get around 50 per day on reception, this due the fact Theres literally no Cars to rent on madeira, some rent a Cars try to scam you

  5. Bom dia Honeymoon Always,

We loved your video! Too bad we did not get to meet you when you were here. Hopefully when we are on the mainland!

    Enjoy your journey

  6. Hey my Home for the last 18 years! Glad to finally seeing it known for reasons other than CR7. To be fair, to truly know Madeira you definitely need a car, hanging around in funchal does not do justice to its beauty but that said yeah that rental car was expensive but at the same time a taxi can charge you half of that just to take you to the airport or to Funchal (15 minutes drive) and there isn't any other alternative as they fought hard to get rid of uber for not ripping out tourist. Next time you come make sure you visit Fanal, since you loved Arieiro, you won't be dissapointed.

  7. Great videos guys! FYI, the hawaiian ukulele was originated from migrants that came from Madeira! Developed in the 1880s, the ukulele is based on several small, guitar-like instruments of Portuguese origin, the machete, cavaquinho and rajao , introduced to the Hawaiian Islands by Portuguese immigrants from Madeira, the Azores and Cape Verde. Three immigrants in particular, Madeiran cabinet makers Manuel Nunes, José do Espírito Santo, and Augusto Dias, are generally credited as the first ukulele makers. Two weeks after they disembarked from the SS  in late August 1879, the Hawaiian Gazette  reported that "Madeira Islanders recently arrived here, have been delighting the people with nightly street concerts." BTW, 100 euros/ day for the rental car is crazy! Did you check different places? Well, of course, it depends on each person's necessities.

  8. So beautiful! I had never even heard of it. How many days were you there and how was the temp? It looked like Hawaii beach weather but I noticed Michelle wearing a jacket?

  9. would you guys talk about winter in portugal? i keep seeing comments about how it's very cold due to the dampness & how its very cold? how would you compare it to texas? is it as bad as people make it out to be? i know that you guys have heaters & dehumidifier's but yeah i'd like to know more about this.

  10. Madeira Island my place of birth, Funchal, the capital, is my hometown, I'm glad that you've loved being there, next time you go there, try to book the hire car in advance, and kind of of season, 100 euros a day was a bit expensive, there's a lot more to see on the Island.
