Mini urban bonbon for a single living – this elegant and stylish project by Tommaso Giunchi Architetto features a one room apartment in the center of Milan, Italy. The creative stylistic and functionality of space are yet another example of why we love so much the modern trend of turning small urban locations into fully functioning homes.
The flexible décor composition not only exudes style but gives the feeling of spaciousness, purity, and freedom. The space arranges in open floor sequence all the necessary areas for modern-day lifestyle; an elegant cubical structure hosts the bedroom with a handy bookshelf structure surrounding it. Elevated wooden platforms inspired by modern-Asian stylistics host not only a comfy purple sofa but also a hidden compartment for storage and tidy drawers. The floor is also a beautiful blond wood parquet, and it gives a graphic dynamics by its chez arranged squares.
The kitchen corner offers functionality and white minimalism. Smart fold-in system (without which modern design for small apartment won’t be possible) tidy up the cooking counter and zing efficiently and turns them into a simplistic board. The same tidy-go-hidden design approach suits the water premises – a small bathroom with rectangular metro tiles that fitt the niche perfectly.
The decoration elements’ oblong, plastic shapes give a staggering contrast to the main structures (shelves, bed cubicle, and cabinets) and their pure, rectangular silhouettes. A good balance that supplements the balance between tactile richens of wooden structures and vital, colorful textiles. The place successfully combines minimalist purity with bohemian artistry and modern stylistics.

Small spaces can work very well with a minimalist decorative style. Plus, they can look just as elegant, if not more so, than those big expensive apartments in the big metropolis. My wife and I are trying to adopt a minimalist MCM style, to make the most of every square inch. We just bought a Florence sofa from Manhattan Home Design and we want it to be the start of big transformations. "Less is more."
Beautiful place
