  1. Can you make a video on taxes? You have said you live mostly on dividends but how are those taxed? If we sell, and lease a home, invest in dividend paying stock, how do we determine what we will pay? Given other income streams…

  2. Hi Norm and Tina: Love the video with lots of great tips. I am an audiophile so not looking forward to an apartment. I will spend a few G’s on headphone gear and keep the volume down over the speakers anyways to protect my ears as we are getting older. Set-up will be challenging for good sound in an apartment. Love streaming Tidal in MQA. Im going to investigate Prime again over Netflix. We don’t order much with Amazon and prefer Costco in case of returns etc. Is a fire stick used when out of range of your normal service provider? Is a yubi-key necessary if there are other verifications available…such as wife’s phone, e-mail or text? We got a password program and VPM and they are trouble. The VPM does not allow access to certain sites(ticketmaster) and needs to be uninstalled. Certain sites know you have it even when its turned off. All the best. Just returned from Jamaica. Wife sick and other friends got Covid and the bad colds/ cough going around. If travelling be aware you still could get sick. Take care and all the best. Paul and Helen.

  3. You two are great. I enjoy the honesty you project. I'm retiring next month and seeking all the advice I can find. You have helped me with some worries I face. Keep up the excellent work.

  4. Investing in retirement is much different from investing for retirement. This is because you finally get to use those savings to live the life you’ve worked hard to achieve. The biggest mistake most people make when it comes to their retirement is they do not plan for it.
Congratulations you made it to retirement—now what?
Learn how to wisely withdraw and invest your retirement funds to make sure they provide the income you need, keep up with inflation, and last as long as you need them.

  5. What brings me joy in retirement? Bird watching, walking in outdoor green spaces, gardening, my houseplants and my sunporch, bike riding, my laptop and our (FREE) local senior center. and my rescue dog. Unfortunately, my 77-year-old husband has neuropathy, hammer toes, bunions, and osteoarthritis in his knee. This means he can no longer walk long distances or even walk on uneven ground. This has certainly put a damper in our outside adventures. I was a member of Amazon Prime but I cancelled this membership recently. I did this because 1) the new fee of $139.00 a year is just too expensive for us. (We have Netflix for $8.99 a month and that serves us just fine) and 2) I am philosophy opposed to how BADLY Amazon treats their employees. I just cannot support a company who feels this kind of treatment is normal and right. Profits over people….Just say NO to Amazon Prime!

  6. What does a ‘Firestick’ do?
What is it about the quality of the air fryer food that you like so much more?
Where do you recommend buying a used car from? (I tried to buy one once and couldn’t find one that hadn’t been devastate in an accident and glued back together)
Thank you for the ‘Ubi-Key’ advice!!
I have learned SO MUCH from you guys and you are both so charming 🪢

  7. Four comments. Amazon Prime. You have to be careful about their supposed free shipping. A lot of times they tack on the cost of shipping to the sales price. Especially from Amazon marketplace. They are good for hard to find or uncommon items but I often find better deals at brick and mortar stores for common stuff.

Smart watch. I have Apple Watch but often take it off when not needed because it makes my wrist all clammy especially in the summer.

Add free ebooks from public library you can download to amazon kindle. Oh yeah, favorite gizmo is my kindle reader.

Fourth I miss the days when all they asked you when driving to Canada was where you were born. Didn’t even ask for ID. Now I can’t at all because I don’t have passport.

  8. I recently retired and finding so much joy in having the whole day to myself. I live in Sedona, Arizona which is a popular tourist town but also have a house in Phoenix. I spend a week or so between the two houses for weather, or visiting doctors etc… I've been thinking of a large monitor for the computer to be like a movie screen so I can enjoy the internet and movies I've downloaded.

  9. I might look up the "firestick" as I have Prime. We are going to start trying out motorhomes (we will hire them first) and have booked one to go to Snowdonia next year, but would be nice to have something to plug in the TV. I'm also wondering if it will work in Hotel TV as I work away a lot. Some great advice and i have bought 2 smart watches ( i thought they would be £100s and were only £21 each on black friday discount! ) We have an air fryer and although we dont eat meat we use it for chips (French fries) we scrub and chop a couple of potatoes, put in a bowl with salt, herbs de Provence and a teaspoon of oil) and cook for 15 minutes, they taste amazing. Thanks again for all the advice. Rob and Tracey x

  10. Thanks for the great suggestions. We always learn something new from others that we never thought of.

You have mentioned of doing just oil changes for 2 years. Just wondering if it’s sufficient to keep gas powered going as when we go to dealers they have a whole list of “recommended” maintenance to do and oil change is just the beginning. Since you are traveling a lot by car I am wondering if you considered doing other maintenance along with oil change. Also wondering if CAA membership would make your list.

Thank you and keep up the great work❤.

  11. I live in Virginia, outside Washington DC..we love the stunning fall colors too. Always good to really enjoy them before winter. I love these suggestions. I am about five years before retirement and am taking notes from you both. 🙂

  12. Is it possible to introduce how to get all other advantages of prime member, such as VPN、clouds、 audile and stream TV. I have prime member but do not know how to get other benefits. Thanks a lot😊

  13. Im going to get a home defender shot gun its short easy to carry. I also have a pistol that fires pepper balls 50 calibre its air defense weapon so legal to carry. I dont have a trailer in Canada yet but your park looks nice but far away. all the best be safe and buy a shot gun

  14. Thanks for the most-interesting discussion on your 11 items.
(i have none of those, and didn't know about most of them).
What do you recommend when paying for online purchases such as Amazon:
do you use a prepaid "small amount" credit card, or pay-pal, or do you use your
standard credit card? I rarely buy anything online as i fear my credit card will be "shopped",
    or hacked. Cheers.

  15. Norm and Tina. Love the video today. Just ordered an airfryer and can’t wait to use it. On Amazon VPN is that the one that protects you from hacker when using other wi-fi and allows you to change your location to another country so you can purchase airline tickets at different price ?

  16. What a great topic for discussion! We had a think back on all of things we’ve purchased to add value to our 16 years of retirement. Now, that was quite a list for us!! Some things have come and gone but always added value or comfort to our lives. My favorite thing is my 2 person sauna I have in our garage. Hubby’s favorite thing is the stacked stone wall and cabinetry we added to our great room. The cabinetry has a lift for our 65” tv so it is hidden away when not in use.

  17. Love Midsommer Murders have watched every episode. Also love Endeavour, Inspector Morse, & Grantchester until the lead left. So enjoying your visit to Alabama. Are the Nexis cards similar to US Pre-Check?

  18. Nice video. Good information. Can you do a video about your identity as grandparents. Alot of folks feel compelled to retire to the same city as the kids to help with raising grandkids and to maintain close family relationships. If I understood correctly, you chose your retirement city based on lower cost of living and proximity to an airport. Did the kids and grandkids factor in at all?

  19. such a big change in life from working to retirement guess need things to enjoy to fill the time and of course has to be affordable too
full view💯Au👍hit a like for you
