Come and let’s have a look to some of the best beaches nearby Lisbon in Portugal. Lisbon, the capital of Portugal located in the southwest and most western part of Europe is a vibrant city full of history. With a mild climate and very inviting to enjoy walks and outdoor sports, it is also a place where you can find a coastline full of beaches for all tastes. In this video I present some of the best ones according to the folllowing sequence:

1:44 Carcavelos beach is the first sea beach you can find for those leaving Lisbon city, located in the municipality of Cascais, 15 minutes by train from the city center, it is undoubtedly very convenient and a good choice for those who enjoy surfing and play beach sports. With a relatively extensive sandy area located in an urban area delimited to the east by the fort of São Julião, it is one of the favorite beaches for locals to relax.

4:16 Cascais beaches, located in the beautiful village of Cascais, 30 minutes by train from the center of Lisbon, are attractive beaches for being in a very picturesque and vibrant urban summer environment. It is very easy to access from one to the other either by the wall along the coast or by swimming or paddling between them. Its calmer waters allow you to enjoy various sports such as paddle, windsurfing, sailing on sailing boats for beginners or even swimming crossings. It is one of the areas preferred by locals for its easy access and the diversity of offer it offers.

6:19 Guincho located 1 hour by train/bus or 40 minutes by car from the center of Lisbon is undoubtedly one of the hottest beaches in the Lisbon area and perhaps in Portugal. This is due to its extensive sand and its natural beauty. For being in a formation of wild dunes with a view over Cabo da Roca and the beautiful Sintra mountain range. Its waves and exposure to the wind make it one of the beaches chosen by surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers. It is sometimes chosen to host international competitions in these modalities.

7:39 Ursa, located in the municipality of Sintra near Cabo da Roca, is situated on one of the many cliffs that make up this jagged coastline. It owes its name to the protruding rock that dominates the landscape in the shape of a bear. It is the westernmost beach in continental Europe, nestled in the cliffs of Cabo da Roca and considered in some guides to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! A 1-hour drive from the center of Lisbon to the beginning of the steep and winding access trail that is made on foot and can take up to 30 minutes to descend. It is a very popular beach for nudists and nature lovers.

9:38 Adraga beach located in the municipality of Sintra near Colares and Almoçageme, formerly known as Praia D. Amélia, is also known for its rock formations, cliffs and natural landscape. An hour’s drive from the center of Lisbon is an attractive beach for its wild side, natural and preserved environment and its rough sea. Between surfing and hiking, it also attracts speleology lovers who practice this sport in its caves and tunnels. This is without a doubt one of the gems to know.
