  3. Hi, I just found your channel, I am an American but now I am a resident of Portugal living in Cascais. Later today I have spinal surgery at the local Cuf (hospital). I’ll catch up on your other videos as soon as I can. Good luck with your site, it’s harder than people think. Of course I subscribed.

  4. Thanks Joric for your review. Oddly enough, don't think we visited Chiado on our first trip because we didn't know it was there or the Hop On-Hop Off bus may have not gone thru there–unless I'm just forgetting. Looks charming and worth a visit for our next trip. I appreciate your videos on Lisbon neighborhoods. Don't have a specific area in mind because I'm just so bloody ignorant! 😀

  5. Chiado is definitely well located but touristy. I remember the convent ruins and the trollies going up the street. The sidewalks, if memory serves, can be very narrow! All areas in Lisbon for furnished apartments are on the high end of cost. Frankly, if we have to give a year’s worth in advance for rent, it can almost be considered a small down payment somewhere outside Lisbon.
