Looks like our paths just crossed. We were in Sintra and Lisbon last week and enjoyed the visit. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Such a beautiful town and your accommodations were beautiful as well. Thanks again for sharing your journey with us.
Great video. Who was your cameraman?
We loved it! Great video!
Hello from Vancouver, BC. Thank you so much for this video. My husband and I have planned a trip to Portugal next year and Sintra is high on our list of places to visit. I have taken note of the B&B you stayed at, it looks wonderful. I really enjoy all your videos.
So beautiful and full of history.
Beautiful video, your camera crew was fantastic.
So much to see in Sintra alone! The historic castles are incredible. I've always heard about the castles in other parts of Europe, but never of Portugal's. I can see where one can get wrapped up in the magical looking surroundings.
Hey guys. My wife and I made it to Portugal to visit what we thought was gonna be our kids furure school, but unfortunately things didn't work out. However, we decided to use the time to explore Portugal since we want to eventually move here. We when to Braga, Lisbon, Colares, and we were in Sintra the same days you guys were there. I saw pictures in your Instagram and told my wife, would it be funny if we would see Doug and Monique around here? We were not lucky enough. We visited almost the same places you guys did. What an amazing place! We will be returning back to Florida tomorrow with plans to return to Portugal with our 3 little girls in the future on vacation, and our new plan is to retiring here in 6 years from now. Thanks again for sharing your videos. We love watching and listening to your experiences .
What a beautiful time you had. Would you make a summary of such videos with 'how much your travel cost in total'. That is in addition to the price tags along the video? I miss your early budget videos😊
The staff at our hotel in Lisbon highly recommended reserving Pena Palace tickets online and scheduling our entry after 1330 to miss the big morning lines. That worked well for us as it gave us time to leisurely walk around, grab a coffee and pastry near the train station, then get the 434 bus to Pena Palace. LOL that bus driver somehow drove the bus faster than I would trust myself driving that route in a car! "A little overwhelming" is how you put it…I called it "the mother of all tchotchke collections." 🤣 I know it's been there for ages, but the sheer number of items inside is beyond amazing. Our schedule only allowed a day in Sintra , but I sure hope we travel there again and spend a few nights to allow us to see the other palaces we missed.
Edit…I looked up Chalet Saudade on Google maps and now recall that we walked past it and thought it would be an incredible place to stay on a future visit. Padario Saloia across the street is where we had coffee before heading up to the palace.
You are visiting all the places I am so anxious to tour. Don’t know when I will be able to visit, and still hoping to move to Portugal. Had my first Portuguese lesson yesterday. Very exciting, but it’s going to take me a great while to learn. Maybe by the time I get there I will be able to speak and understand a little.
Another great video. Thanks for showing Portugal to the world.
We stayed two nights in October – too much rain – spent time skating over the cobblestones! Nice microbrewery but too many tourists. Better to visit in spring for us.
Hi Doug and Monique! Thanks for this great video about Sintra. We knew it would be one of the places we want to visit when we eventually move to Portugal but now it's moved to the top of the list along with Lisbon. You definitely have a talent for creating excellent travel videos and showcasing the best places to visit at a particular destination. Including the admission costs is a nice touch. It looks like you had an awesome time in both Lisbon and Sintra! Cheers.
