Hi Laura……If you found her in Portugal why doesn’t she have a pet passport that vets provide when you have them checked out here? With the pet passport it is my understanding you do not need to do anything in the US/Canada when returning, assuming all shots are up to date.
Thanks, Laura. Very helpful video. Do the Azores require cats to be microchipped to be admitted for a one month visit? Thank you, Marie-Louise
Good thing you don’t need a passport for your pets or it would take month’s these days, so half the day isn’t so bad. Always look on the bright side of life. 😀 Have a great flight ✈️
Being a dog owner I appreciated this video as I’ve thought about traveling with my dog. Not sure I would do it, the process and the cost involved not only the vet costs but also airline costs are definitely a deterrent aside from the unpleasant experience for the pet. Would only consider if I was moving to another country. Thanks for the info!
Similar to how the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) must endorse the EU-compliant veterinary health certificate, US folks traveling with their pets will have to have their certificate endorsed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Hi Laura & Carlos! We have the same process in the US. It was very helpful that Expats Everywhere who you probably know did the US version. Canadians moving or traveling with pets to Portugal will appreciate your vlog!
Very informative video Laura. Have a safe trip to Portugal!
Hello, it's good that you are returning to Portugal, and you are bringing your pretty kitten, the information on how to travel with pets is very interesting, I already missed your videos, happy trip… a hug from Venezuela….
