What happens when it rains a lot and you’ve excavated around your house to lay a french drain? Let’s see…

We’ve completed the guttering (except for the part that was supposed to take a week for delivery that we’ve now been waiting over 2 months for) and have lowered the ground level around the house (there’s more to do, but that will be tackled in future).

The french drain and underground drainage trench is (almost) finished and had been dug to a depth of 250mm around two sides of the house.

We’ve had a lot of rain recently so let’s see if a combination of all these efforts have solved the water ingress issues on our ground floor.
