Josh from ExpatsEverywhere takes you on a neighborhood walking tour of Bonfim in Porto, Portugal so that you can see for yourself our favorite neighborhood and the neighborhood we are looking to buy in. A few of us are getting together to buy and renovate a building in Porto. In the last episode, Josh talked with Ana about legal stuff and met with Nuno about possible buildings. This time, he and Nuno drive around Bonfim and then Josh shows you more by foot while giving you some more info about the project. Let’s see what’s next for this vertical community venture.

It's been pretty cool watching you walk around in 'my' neighborhood. One of these days, our paths will cross. This is a great concept to share with us all. I'm still not convinced I don't want to live in a space with more of a water view (or city view), but that fantasy could change the longer I spend in this very easy neighborhood, steps to the metro, Pingo Doce/Continente, parks, and just about anything one could need (with the exception of the expansive water view). Happy Freedom Day!
My wife and I were in Porto last week. We counted cranes and I think we saw around 20. I would imagine demand for good builders is very high. Love the concept you have. The common garden area is really a great idea.
I pray you find your dream home. I can't think of a more deserving family to receive such a blessing. 2 Corinthians 8:13-14.
Josh, is 10 days too much to spend in Porto, or not if you travel to check out other areas closeby? I am trying to buy a hotel and cannot decide how many days to stay. I know Kalie is working on something like a list of places for me to vist. I plan to be in Portugal for 2 months.
I would like to invest in a property too. Great ideas, smart moves. Good homework!
Which city has more hiking trails nearby Lisbon or Porto?
Probably it would also be important to start strategising how a renovation would be done. Those kind of things can take a long time in Portugal (and be very stressful) and it’s not easy to find highly professional people to do construction work, so maybe you should research possible companies that could be hired so that you can get a better idea of calendar availability, costs, timetables, etc. Also keep in mind that material costs are rising and delivery times are slipping, so it will be hard to know how much money you would need to invest – it’s not the best of times to make these kind of plans.
This is very exciting! Looking forward to updates on this project!
how can i get i contact with you
Do you two know the folks from Our Rich Journey?
Hi Josh n Kalie, I’m from Singapore n follows your interesting channel abt Portugal. I’ll b visiting ard mid-May, can u pls recommend a place to stay near the Lisbon train station? Thanks in advance.
Thanks!
I´m really exited about the next step! 🙂
Thank you for sharing. Quivk question… When buying a property in PT, are there property taxes in addition to the mortgage like in the us? If yes how do they compare? Thank you
Hey, I just bought a property in Senhora da Hora – Porto area. For our family to move to in a couple month. what y’all doing sound interesting if you guys want more investors give me a shout.
I’ve been busy traveling (was in Lisbon for a day), so I haven’t been watching your videos. Your accents are awesome!
You are being so smart about this whole process. And the point about keeping the emotion out of the decision is both critical and impossible. 😵💫 Can’t wait for the updates. Thanks for sharing.
Love the Duques! That would be my pick in Porto 🙂 Good job, friends–love this series!
So great to see the neighborhood – it's lovely!
Hey I just got here let’s get together 🙂
I am loving this series! We fell in love with many of the tree-lined streets in that same area. Excited to see where you land!
great content.
Josh,' where is the best place to find a hotel in Porto, within walking distance? Some hotels are like 1.5 klm. which is far right? thanks
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video. Hope u guys will find d best property to turn it into new profitable residential units.
How freaking exciting!
Which neighborhood is less noisy and close to metro?
Can we just get it out of the way that Josh is an incredibly good-looking guy? I mean, seriously. 🙌🏼
