This song is a true story about how Tyler's car radio was actually stolen and he couldn't afford to replace it and he realised how much he used music to distract him from his thoughts. I think in the lyrics he's saying that it's hard and scary and even dangerous at times to let your thoughts wander but also that it's important to experience at times and to ask the deep questions that can scare you and really examine and questions your beliefs. I love how they use their songs to encourage people to think and not try to avoid your thoughts and problems but confront and fight against them and question the things other people and even your own brain tells you.

The mask kinda seems like it's a way for him to hide what he's feeling from other people. i think the hair shaving is a sign of how strong the emotions he is feeling are and needing a fresh start, it is also used by the band in videos to show how the stories they are telling are cycles by having their hair different lengths at different times. they really have amazing energy live, would have been cool to be at this show.
