The 4 did not get a "bye." They played an earlier tournament, where only the top team in each of 4 groups moved on to the QF. Whether you were in the first tourney, or this tourney, depended upon rankings. This tourney has the top 3 finishers from each group moving to the QF.
Diego Luna and Mauricio Cuevas can make the jump to the senior team.
I think a big reason we see a jump in talent at a younger age than before is because of previous pros, like you guys, that are giving back to the soccer community in the US
Thanks for expanding our knowledge of the USYNT and the current system in place for our young talent. In regards to McKennie, I love Weston and I think he is one of our top 3 talents, but I am not sure if Italians see him as important. I don't think they take him seriously. They don't feel comfortable with him, the way he moves, his "look", shirt size, etc: like he is silly and isn't serious about the "beautiful game". Maybe Weston optimizes what Europeans think of how Americans look and act. There loss, he carried that team for long stretches.

USA need to put MORE Emphasis on the TECHNICAL BALL skills of USA Soccer Development.
Because Most of the TOP teams and Top players in the world, are Top in their Technical Ball Skills.
