United just cancelled my direct flight from Accra to DC in September, and then charged me MORE for a less convenient flight with a 7 hour layover in Brussels. I understand staffing shortages and supply chain issues, but they shouldn’t be allowed to do that.

Over the last 9 years, LAX has never canceled any of my international flights to overseas, also, I always took Air France, Turkish airline. Noregent, Malaysia airline. I prefer overseas vacation 😌 I also travel in April, June or September

I'm certain Joe Biden's record high fuel prices making those flights non-profitable has a lot to do with the record level of non-weather-related flight cancellations.

United SUCKS! They canceled our flights a few days prior to our Travel!!!! Never again United!!!!

Why are they making all these flights available if they can forecast all these cancelations? Why are they not letting basic supply and demand play out and raise the price of those scarce fligths so only those who can afford it end up buying tickets that don't get canceled last minute. You can tell me that it's not fair that only rich people can afford those tickets; the result is the same if people that can afford tickets end up having their flight canceled.

I have a avoided flying as much as possible during the summer. It's a mess, just even worse this year.

People saying “don’t travel” how about “don’t sell tickets for planes that don’t exist” wouldn’t that solve the actual issue?

The best way is to just avoid flying or traveling during peak holiday season especially those non-family-important holidays like Fourth of July !!! Just avoid the airports altogether for once. Sit back enjoy at home, BBQ, movies or sports game with immediate relatives. Don't understand there is always a hype to Queue up in line just because everyone else is blindly doing so. No one is missing out on anything other than loosing valuable time being delayed or standing in lines…

Traveling these days seem like a nightmare.

I bet the flights they canceled are ones which folks booked months ago… I’d rather give that money back and have you rebook at todays rates…. Which are much higher than months ago…

These passengers may not have been aware of several jet charter companies at Teterboro, right next door to Newark Airport? Maybe that is not a solution – possible that they are short of pilots as well (hired by major airlines). Will be an interesting summer.

This business about driving instead of flying is for the birds if you are in the Northeast corridor. I 95 is a parking lot. Take the train or just don’t go.

Why aren’t we giving airlines tips on better customer service…like for delays maybe give a food and drink voucher while people wait in the airport or if your flight is cancelled provide a hotel voucher…but yes us the consumer should do everything we can to ensure what we paid for runs properly 🤷🏾‍♀️
