  1. Hi Niluka, welcome to Portugal. Don't give up on being parents, we are 47 years old, we were parents at 40, after several years of trying, until we changed doctors, we did IVF, it wasn't the first time… but we managed. Don't give up your coming to Portugal, it will make it happen. If you want, we can talk privately, and I can give you the contact of the doctor and the clinic.

  9. Your honesty is so genuine. Thank you for it. You have clearly examined your life, as it is and what you would like to add to it. May it come to pass whatever the form it takes.

  10. Wow Niluka so sorry for all that you have gone through. In addition to vulnerability, what shines through in this video is your resilience and determination to build the life you want with a wonderful partner in life by your side. Moving to a new country can be a very lonely experience but it can also be an opportunity to leave the past behind and become part of another kind of family of old souls, beautiful hearts and like minds that somehow find each other despite language barriers, geography or walk of life. Much love from Canada

  11. You are so brave and positive and your bright smile touched my heart. ❤💛💚
Please don't feel insecure any longer, you have a lovely personality and you are in a caring country. Always look forward because good things will come your way🌺🍀🌻
I think in Portugal there's a fostering system where children are placed with families, I don't know how it works but I'm thinking it could be a way of getting to know a child and the child getting to know you, before commiting to an adoption that may work, or not.
And as you pointed out, when we reach middle age our energy levels are not the same, and as a child becomes a rebelious teenager (most do, just natural) it also becomes increasingly difficult for older parents to cope mentally.
I know what you mean when you say you like the quietness. Same here. Once we get used to our own lifestyle it's difficult to change it radically, and a child brings a lot of upheavel.
If you really want to get involved in children's upbringing, maybe you could volunteer in a primary school or kindergarden (creche) I'm sure they'd love to have extra help as they now have introduction to English from school age. Just an idea.

  12. I admire your honesty so much. It's rare anyone is brave enough to talk about their adoption. I can certainly resonate with how you described your experience of it. For most it's a happy ever after but not always. Little is said about it.
I'm glad it has not defined who you are today. I love your tattoo and I hope you and your husband get the opportunity in Portugal to adopt. I know how intrusive that process is having worked in the uk with local council. As far as I'm concerned you are well deserving to be parents as you have experienced first hand what not to do.
In the meantime your fur babies will give you all of their love. Loving your channel and your new adventure.

  13. Hi, Naluka, thank you for sharing your life. You are a brave lady to be able to open up to the world. ☺️. You are amazing person. Let this be a full stop in the pain you carried all this years. You are starting a new life in Portugal and so a new chapter. All the best for the future😌❤️

  14. Thank you for sharing, Niluka. Many people who have had problems with fertility do not share but I think sharing helps in the healing process. We too had issues & I was 43 when my 2nd child was born. You are not too old to adopt & be a mom to a child if that is something you still want. But if you have chosen not to try again then that is a good choice too. I wish you all the best.

  15. Hello Niluka , thank you so very much for your openness and honesty about your life, I really think that you would make a great Mom, you obviously have such a good outlook today even after a lot of heart breaks in your life. I feel like I just popped in for coffee and we have had a get to know you talk. I came here in 2019 from Texas after my divorce and settled in Tavira, always wanted to do what you and your husband have done but Im on my own now so who knows, maybe one day. All the best to you both for the future.
