10 weeks self-isolating on a Portuguese farm – a van life vlog we never thought we’d make. Yet here we are, amidst a global pandemic. Even though we are far from our loved ones in Ireland & England, we have felt very much at home here. The Portuguese people have shown us nothing but kindness, making us feel safe & welcome in their beautiful country.
If you watched our previous Portugal vlog, you’ll remember how this all unfolded for us. We found ourselves in Lisbon when news of Covid19 began to emerge & become serious. There was anxiety & fear. At one point, we seriously considered doing a U-turn & driving Jitters back to the U.K. Having sought the advice of family, friends & our embassies, we decided to stay put. And we are so thankful that we did. It was by sheer luck that we managed to find a farm willing to take us in, nestled in the stunning Arrábida National Park. Our host João truly went above & beyond for us. Having such a beautiful place to stay, with access to the outdoors, nature walks, farm animals & surrounded by wildlife has been a true privilege. We hope you enjoy sharing this experience with us & that wherever this finds you, that you are safe & well.

Jits is a 1999 Peugeot Boxer Autosleeper ‘Symphony’. Jits belonged to Adam’s mum, Sally, who sadly passed away in Jan 2019 from ovarian cancer. During this time, we were reminded how life is too short and felt inspired to take the plunge & pursue our dream of full-time van life.
