Villa Laurisilva | Calheta | Madeira | Portugal | Olivers Travels

On the South-Western coast of Madeira, in Arco da Calheta, the spectacular Villa Laurisilva is a well-equipped property which enjoys wonderful views of the Atlantic from its elevated position. Set amongst banana plantations, this three-bedroom villa is just a 25-minute drive from Funchal and features a 10m x 4.7 metre infinity pool, gym and sauna.

Surrounded by well-kept, landscaped gardens, Villa Laurisilva enjoys a wonderfully scenic setting and a reliably warm climate. There is plenty of space inside and out, with the property designed to offer panoramic views from its living areas and bedrooms alike. You have a covered outdoor dining area, beautiful lawns and sun loungers lined up beside the magnificent infinity pool.

Light and spacious living areas inside feature contemporary furnishings and benefit from Wi-Fi and a centralised sound system. There is yet more entertainment available in a separate cinema room with a large screen, professional projector and Dolby surround sound, plus very comfy seating.

Your kitchen comes equipped with a large fridge freezer, coffee machine, dishwasher, island and much more. You have a private gym with a cross-trainer, treadmill and multigym with weights, and an office equipped with a Mac – although the outlook over the pool to the sea beyond may distract you.

Three double bedrooms enjoy similarly stunning views, each with direct access to the pool and a patio. All have a private bathroom (two en-suites) and ample storage. A relaxing Finnish-style sauna is also available to you as a guest at Villa Laurisilva.

This eco-friendly villa uses green energy sources, energy-efficient appliances, solar water heating and rainwater harvesting. They can also arrange a variety of services so you can make the most of your time on the island, for example guided tours, diving and dolphin-watching. It’s an easy drive to Madeira’s capital, Funchal, with its historic centre, excellent restaurants and exhilarating cable car rides among the reasons to visit.
