The Carvalho Monteiro Collection at the Library of Congress and the Oliveira Lima Library at the Catholic University of America are two of the most valuable Luso-Brazilian collections in the world. This event will focus on the provenance histories of the collections, the work currently occurring to bring them to the public’s attention, and underscore the collections’ meanings in the terms of U.S.-Brazil relations.
