  1. Sorry Netherlands for the loss but you should be proud for giving a great fight in 2nd half. The WC will come your way one day! Would like to see you play the typical Dutch football style that you are known for and why I became a fan since WC 1998. Keep your chin up !

  2. Over the entire tournament, the Dutch national team played terrible football. I think that LvG has denied the Dutch football school. The Netherlands played very cowardly and did not deserve to continue. I think the game against Argentina that the referee has a great share that a lot of moments were escalated…

  3. Croatia or morrocco should have the last say for the resilience they showed…just wished the incorrect penalty given to Argentina had not been given…or else deservedly Holland would have been in…don't want England or France to get a free pass…both should be shut shopped

  4. As a Dutch person, its an L , we want to compete to win our first WC and we went out against argentina on penalties again. We were proud in 2010 and 2014, this year is just too dissapointing to view it as a succes

  5. The only time Netherland were better was when they were desperate and launching hail-marries at Argentina's Box and Argentina was defending. And the moment that desperation went away, Netherland just went into their shells

  6. Such a disappointing tournament. They the NL team played is for me as a Dutch football fan (Ajax always #1) embarrassing. Good comeback against Argentina but everything else was bad. Just really bad

  7. It was a complete success for Holland and, above all for their coaching staff. I was reading from the Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Italian press before the World Cup and almost all the analysts had Holland not making it out of the group stages, and I agreed with them. Worst Holland team ever? Probably. Fabulous work by Van Gall to take them this far.

  8. The Argentina – Ned referee, never cared to learn his name, I've seen referee a few man United games and everytime I see his face i know United are going to lose. Dude is terrible, always been terrible, how he still manages to referee high profile games is beyond me.

  9. I don’t know why nobody mentions this but in the 1998 WC Argentina was trailing 0-1 to England and Veron and Zanetti did this exactly same play out of a free kick tying the game 1 – 1. I can’t believe nobody remembers this.

  10. Craig! you don't get it. Do you? Argentina reached this semi final because of the team spirit. Is there any team which show so much passion from this argentine squad?. Messi gave everything for this team, in response the team try to give everything to Messi. Yeah..Argentina is not that techinically good as other team like England,Brazil, France but in team spirit they are top of the other team. The squad has a mindset that they even can go to a war for Messi. Having that mindset(gave everything for each other) is the most important things to a group sport. That's why Argentina will crown the champion of 2022 World Cup.

  11. Free kick routines have around for ages, and when they work in a competitive match they become part of the highlight reel for the player.
