In 2004 my husband and I moved to Central Portugal to start a new life. We had purchased an abandoned ruin in the middle of a forest, the first house we ever owned. We had a little money and no building experience. What we did have was an old Land Rover, a small unheated caravan, a few basic tools and plenty of enthusiasm…..
