That wild life you mentioned are probably wild boars, judging by what they did to the ground. There are most likely foxes too.

Do you know what's that metal device in one of the wells you showed? It was hard to see but that's probably a device to pull water from the well and into the land. My grandfather had one in his land. It works by connecting it to a large animal (a cow or a donkey) and make it go in circles around the well, which rotated the device vertically and filled buckets with water in every turn, which would then spill into a duct, which would then spread into a network of ducts around the land and irigate it. That's probably a rarity these days. I haven't seen one working for 40 years or more. It would be really fun if you could make it work.

Congratulations on getting your land, you are very fortunate to have three wells on your property. We moved to central Portugal full time only last July and are slowly restoring a much neglected Quinta just outside Aguas village. Wishing you and your family the very best in all your future project.

Hi, Can't wait to see what your future plans will be and wish you all the best with them. I watch a lot of these types of channels and others have built yerts but found them very cold in the winter and hard to insulate and heat x
