I'm Portuguese and i can guarantee to you that kind of drug approaches only happens here in Lisbon to tourists and only in the main turistic areas of downtown. As tourists mainly walk around in those areas, it may give the impression that they are everywhere, when it's not the case. Those bags of shit are always the same group of people, prowling on foreigners

My husband and i moved here from the US 7 weeks ago. My FAVORITE spot in Lisbon is the Jardim de Sao Pedro de Alacantra. Best views of LISBOA EVER!!!

I think I'd love the same things you did–architecture, vibe, food, setting, walkability, etc. I'm sorry you had the drug experience, but I'm glad you didn't really feel threatened. I have experienced being approached in a couple of major U.S. cities, although it only really happened in certain areas of those cities. Thank you for the candid opinions, guys! Very helpful! ❤️❤️

Hi Tim and Dennis! Lisbon is clearly a great city. We have cable cars in San Francisco. They were shut down for about 2 years during the worst of COVID, but they are working again. I have only gone on a cable car once, and I was glad I tried it, but it is not an easy ride. I am sorry to hear about the drug sellers, but glad they walked away when you said no.
