Not the most ethical thing to do, but is it really necessary to pay off consumer debt? So long as the debt isn’t tied to collateral (your mortgage or car loan), what can say a credit card company actually do to you if you don’t live in the US anymore?? Sure your credit will take a hit, but who cares if you won’t need to apply for credit bc you won’t live in the US anymore. Your credit will take a hit for ~2 years and then improve year by year. After ~7 years it should not even show up on your credit report. It won’t affect your ability to re-enter the country.
Love your content btw❤️
Always enjoy your great content!
I missed the live again…😑
You look so vibrant and refreshed, Adalia! Love it 🥰
🌺💐🌺💐🌺💐💯 million flowers to the triad: Adalia, Stephanie, and Shida. Thank you Adalia for your Picky Girl Travels the World checklist. I hash, highlight, note and reference it all the time. I made it mine and it has been so helpful. I have 10 weeks to go before my departure to SMA for my 1-2 year sabbatical. Touched base with facilitator for part 2 of MX temp residency. Anyone still on the fence about temp res, please heed Adalia’s suggestions. Do it sooner rather than later per financial solvency changes.
Though I’ve wanted to do this (sabbatical) for 10 years, the last year of planning and action has been amazing, challenging, emotional…..and WORTH IT! I’m very much a linear thinking introvert too, and as Adalia says, use any fears you have to keep your momentum going for your exit strategy. Peace and blessings! 🙏🏾💯
Happy expat Anniversary!! I love your hair!!
Finding remote work is my issue too. I’m thinking about working in the states for a week maybe 4-6 days then living the rest of the month in MX. Maybe doing this until I figure out a way to stay out permanently. Am I crazy? 😅

Happy Abroad-erversary – something like that 🤷🏾♀️.
After listening to my first Stephanie Perry video, April 17, 2021, and then connected to you and Shida's videos, I, finally made it to Mexico 🇲🇽. Although, not quite moved, just checking things out.
I have been in Cancun since the 4th of July until the 31st; then, I'll be on my way to Merida (July 31 – August 8). My daughter needs my help in the US 🇺🇲 for a few weeks, then I'm headed back to Tulum August 26th – 29th.
At the end of August I'd like to have made a decision about staying, for at least 6 months. One step at a time, but I'm happy that I've left the country for the first in my life, and as a solo traveler.
I struggle with feeling like everyone is moving to Portugal so by the time I get my ish together to move it will be the new tulum 😭
I am preparing for a move next year in process of attending my residency interview next month..wish me luck..trying to sell off stuff .. Will be completing my online course for work in December. Target date April 20223.. as I wait for my 401K to come through.. phew it is alot of planning but worth it. Xx
Adalia, i so love your true and real talk ❤❤👍🏾
How do I get your moving abroad check list?
Do it scared. I hear ya. I am going to do it, in spite of the fear.
I just got my passport last week. I will be retiring the end of 2023. I like to move abroad. Looking at Merida Mexico, Panama or Ecuador.
Timing! Oh but I will move abroad eventually! I'm so glad to see black women abroad. I lived overseas in my 20s and I've been itching to go back. Which episode featured the woman working for the government? I would love to check it out
Expedited new passport took just over 6 weeks. So definitely do it soon.
FEAR!
Watching from abroad. So relaxed and enjoying my best life.
I am reluctant to say in public what I think of “them student loans”. The FEIE knowledge is huge! Many thanks
Getting health insurance abroad is what's holding me back. I'm 60 years old and have pre-existing conditions. I stay employed in California in order to have health insurance.
So good .. so informative

You're welcome.
