No one ever thinks of Santarém, have you ever been there? Obviously it has no ocean beaches, but the city proper is located on a mountain overseeing the Tagus planes, which means some locations have fabulous views. Real estate tends to be cheap, and you are a 32 min train ride from Lisbon. Not one expat in sight…
Thanks Joric. This is the most comprehensive YT video that addresses living options throughout PT. Definitely bookmark material! It's not easy to cover all living options PT in one video so I appreciate this effort. We've been seriously considering retiring to PT for about 2 years now w/one recon trip under our belts and a second one coming very soon. The goal will be to narrow down living options from about 7-8 to (hopefully) no more than 3. I'm pleased to learn all our options have made your list, so it sounds like we're on the right track.
