Portugal is a funny old place. Just sat quietly on the far left hand side of Europe minding its own business mostly and occasionally chucking out outstanding footballers.
As a Portuguese, I love your video As a sidenote: one of the conditions to Salazar permit the use of the Azores airfields to the Allies was the return of East Timor postwar in the Pacific to Portuguese rule
Tension between Britain and Portugal was only officially ended when José Mouriñho and Cristiano Ronaldo were exported to the UK just over 20 years ago 🙂 Be well, chap 🙂
Portugal did commit troops to WW1 and was an unfortunate experience for their small force so I can understand the reluctance to commit. However I understand Spain missed out on post war reconstruction funds due to its neutrality and expect Portugal did as well.
IM portuguese and we fight in the side of us(portugal) like every politician have to do (the people they represent..
