China (CCP) supports the Russian invasion, plain and simple. The CCP controls the media in China and if you use any of their social media, for example, Chinese TikTok (Dou Yin), you will see continuous videos of pro Russian invasion. If the CCP were against the Russian invasion, none of these pro Russian invasion videos will be displayed in the media for over two months straight. History has already shown you that the CCP can take down any unwanted video in a matter of 20 minutes.

China is friends with nobody. It's talk of territorial integrity should also concern Russia, since the entire region on which Vladivostok sits used to belong to China.
A trade may be made for more overt support, and Russia will have no choice. It's a sparsely populated region that Russia can't reasonably expect to defend with a broken economy.

Just because the Chinese aren't showing support for the Russians publicly doesn't mean that they aren't showing them support privately.
China's relations with Russia were one of convenience. Both wanted to see the world order refitted to their favor. China was impressed by how much their northern neighbor, (whose economy wasn't even in the top ten!), could seemingly get away with so much. Checheny, Crimea, Syria.. it seemed Putin could act with impunity and China really wanted to learn how. (They too want to assert their regional dominance after all). But then the Ukraine war went awry and Russia's army proved inept and disorganized. The fascination with Russia faded as Putin and his regime became a pariah and the advantages of their relationship faded. China will do what's best for China and they couldn't help but notice that the 141 countries that condemned Putin's war at the UN included 1) their biggest trading partners, 2) countries who owe China money, 3) necessary for Xi to complete his Belt & Road project. It should surprise nobody that China is creating distance between it and the Russian regime.
