I don’t understand the Brexit bit..if you are Eu citizens the U.K. isn’t kicking out Eu citizens already established in the U.K.. I have talked to a few people from mainland Europe and I think they miss some of the reasons for Brexit…Anyway you made an excellent choice.

You made a good choice. The work online helps. The economy and job situation is not easy in Portugal. So we are very happy here in Portugal too, (two Brits married no kids) but we found we do miss family. Elderly parents back in UK is a bit of a problem. (The dog barking is quite a common problem too in Portugal LOL). It's not perfect in Portugal, but it's pretty good and the weather is lovely, better than Brexit, the rain and other factors such as work hard ethos in UK etc etc…all best with your life! I lived in the United States my whole life and moved to Braga, Portugal September 2019. I ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ love it!!! Portugal is 3rd Safest country in the world, USA is 128th out of 163 countries. Just checked and the UK is 45th. Portugal gives you a sense of security, affordable to live with a great health care system and great food!!

It's never easy moving to a new country and even harder returning to your country of origin. I lived in the UK for nearly 20 years and left in 2014 to go live in Brazil only to return to Brexit UK in 2016. I can totally relate to values not aligned with after Brexit. We now live in Brussels but are planning to move to Portugal. From what I understand you're a bicultural couple, correct? We are also a bicultural family and wondering how the dynamics have changed with one returning to the country of origin.
