WINTER is COMING! So we did this…

We are building our own house off grid in North Idaho. Winter is coming so it’s time to get things wrapped up before the snow starts to fall. In this episode of building or off grid house, we work on the house wrap, finish up the window openings, and take a much-needed vacation to Mexico.

  1. Good to see your videos again. I have not been with you as life happened this year. Another Idaho off-grid channel reminded me of your channel. They are Ambition Strikes. Thanks for all your videos. God Bless!

  2. Wow! We can’t wait to see how the house turns out. We sell land in the mountains around the US, and we would like to share your channel with our clients who recently bought land from us. Your videos will be an inspiration for our clients who will start building their dream houses off-grid. Thank you! 😊

  3. Doesn't it make you nervous about whole end of new part of house is open to the trusses? The rain getting floor wet and swelling up. Every video of people that open up roofs to weather it rained in house.

  4. One thing I would like to point out. You need to be careful about piecing together that OSB paneling on the outside of the walls, because one of the benefits is the added shear strength, which is lost with the more seams there are.

  5. Hey Martin, can't wait to see how you connect the house to the solar setup in the solar shed. This is something I have to do in the future at my small house in the woods in South Alabama. I only have a few panels but I still need to connect the solar to the panel box inside the house and possibly a generator.

  6. The last part of the video made me wonder. Why didn't you make a electricity store/electric room as part of the house to access in bad weather or check things instead of a remote shed? Just asking.

  7. David's sunflower seeds…but it's been a long time since I've had any from the States…do you eat the shell and all or just the kernel and spit out the shell? Personally I used to eat the shell and all…but it's a little rough on the digestive system…here in Peru it's more common to get the kernels raw, then we toast them ourselves in a cast iron skillet…pretty yummy….by the way, we are at the stage you were 3 years ago….in tents on our land, clearing the area to excavate, started a little gardening and even have 3 chickens (gifted to us by new friends)…We're using as many of your ideas/videos to make this easier…thanks for the inspiration!

  8. Good morning!!!!! Glad you had a nice trip to Mexico you both deserve it. My wife and I like David brand sunflower seeds. The new addition is coming along very nice,it will nice when you get the porch build. God bless and thank you for sharing.☺️☺️❤️❤️❤️
