A tropical horror named Daniel has brought unprecedented destruction to Portugal! As soon as Tropical Storm Daniel arrived in Portugal, reports of devastation began to pour in.

Manteigas Mayor Flavio Massano described the damage as “enormous”, affecting at least two parishes.
“Several cars were dragged away by the force of the water; there are damaged houses, affected businesses, roads, public lighting, water and sewerage, sports and entertainment equipment,” he complained.
After a horrendous summer marked by days of uncontrolled wildfires, Daniella merely added to Manteigas’ terrible misfortunes.
In Grandola, the local police station was infamous for buckets scattered all over the floor collecting rainwater from a damaged roof.
Only the Algarve so far seems to have been spared, as Daniella’s transition has so far not been intense enough. The long-awaited rain fell, but the region needs much more.
