Getting the run around from the estate agent, solicitor, council no one seems to know what type of land our house and farm sits on ….find out if we get the answer from the architect!

  1. The urbano artigo means you have a plot of land with a house, in your case 80m2.
    land with a house for habitation , becomes a urban article by the Land registry.
    Land without a building for habitation is a rustic article , means land for cultivation.
    land with a urban article have a percentage designated for construction. this percentage defines how big your house can be .
    So you need to find out in your council planning office what is that percentage on your plot location.
    That will tell you if your ruin can be extended or not. if the [indice de contrucao ] the total percentage is 80 m2 or not.
    I think your nightmare is simply not been able to understand Portuguese , and the estate agents in portugal are not very helpful 2.

  2. Always a nightmare navigating land issues it seems here in Portugal. You do well to be cautious and do it correctly, I know a few people who have had several issues, and nightmare times…..better to get it sorted first …Lord Abe, that’s good 😂..I think he looks a little like Jose Mourinho..but not with that hat on🤣🤣hope the architect helps , good luck with it all….🤞
