  1. Good selection. Best to check current economic and social conditions making any decision. Due to hardships from Covid and high inflation rates,, Ecuador and Peru are experiencing political unrest and increasing crime rates. Chile is in the grips of a multi-year draught and has recently instituted water rationing in Santiago. Political unrest will surely increase in many countries. Can you recommend ways of getting current information from local expats without a financial interest?

  2. Very well-researched and well-presented summary. I successfully applied for and received a Colombian 3-year pensionado visa, and have now been living in Medellín for just over 20 months. While Medellín has many good qualities, if you're seeking a more relaxed and peaceful retirement life, this may not be ideal for you. As a large urban environment, it features all the attendant hassles of big-city life, including major traffic, noise, and air pollution. Many aspects of the short-travel existence sound appealing, and I may consider a change to that kind of lifestyle when my visa renewal comes up next year.

  3. It is becoming more difficult to renew your residence permit in Turkey. This is due to so many moving from Ukraine, Russia, Syria, and Afghanistan. I had it ready to show them, but they never asked me for any financial statements. I don't know at this point if I'll be able to stay a second year.

  4. @Vagabond, If you didn't know there has been controversy brewing around Randy and 17 yr old girl on a recent video post where he delivered rice sacks to families under a bridge. I hope you stay CLEAR of him and don't post anymore interviews. I'm sure you had no idea BUT the word is out about him! Surprisingly enough Randy has been trying to defend his attraction to young girls and ended up digging himself into an even BIGGER HOLE!

  5. I love your videos but have to ask, how do you pack for all your traveling. I’m seriously curios about what you always take with you how much luggage etc. could you please share with us how you do it? Thank you

  6. You are correct. The old Thailand retirement visas still exist. The new Thai visas in the news recently are long term resident visas for 10 years and they are targeted specifically towards wealthy expats. Nothing wrong with that but they are additional new visas and the old visas still exist. This is not like the Malaysia example.

  7. Thailand just makes the cut! $2000/month is also about what it takes to live a modest life as a single retiree. Maybe more in Bangkok and possibly less in smaller cities.

  8. Very helpful video Dan! What transportation do you use to get between cities in the Philippines? How many personal items do you carry from country to country?

  9. hi dan, good video. thanks for the info. I'm just now applying for my 13a being married to a Filipina. I was going to go back to the USA once a year and use the balikbayan program but going through this CCP-19 thing and the high inflation in the states, I decided to stay permanently in the Philippines.

  10. cool thing in EC is the Professional visa (available for folks of retirement age, too) where a degree from a qualifying college reduces the income requirement to $425/mo (edit: as of Jan 2022)
