  1. I lived there for 11 years and my brother was born there. Haven’t been there since I left in 1987, and am not surprised it looks almost exactly as I remember. Keep telling my kids they only way they will understand me is when I take them there.

  2. I'm living in Biscoitos now for the month of february, right near the natural pools, I try to go swimming there most days even though its cold. If you go, bring some goggles! There are hundreds of fish that hang out there. Also wise to wear some water shoes, as there are some sea urchins as well.

  3. Hi, I just saw your video. The editing is fantastic, the drone work is phenomenal. I see that our famous bulls were missing from your video. I say this because they are my passion here on my island and that's why I spend a few hours of my time with them, recording the work with the respective owners of these beautiful animals. Too bad I can't spend more time editing my videos, it's all so fast due to my work. Your edition is magnificent. Congratulations and don't forget to visit the other islands, each with its different charm. A big hug. Stay safe.

  4. ,. the cows take nothing and give back everything. they require no food at all, that green you see on the island managed by the cow not man. the cow leaves that land for slaughter and that's all. not even trucked but just herded. It's a system a thousand years old, sustainable and perfect not only feeding the entire island but the tourist as well.

  5. 2 years ago I have been to Sao Miguel and very much longing back to Azores 🙂 with this cheerful and nicely informative video you gave a gentle push to my ambitions, will start putting the details together 🙂

  6. Can anyone tell me what the attitude of azoreans is in mainland Portugal? Are they seen as like hillbillies or stupid or inferior? My ancestors hail from the islands but sometimes I get weird reactions when I say I'm azorean Portuguese descent.

  7. Strange. In December 2018, I was 5 days new on a cruise ship that sailed from the Caribbean to a place which I recently remembered was called Praia da Vitoria. I did not know that it was in The Azores until today. So it makes it 51 places that I have visited around the world

  8. I love your enthusiasm. It's a hidden gem.
I last had Alcatra, my favorite food there in '72. Until you share life with locals, you have no idea what this island is.
For instance, there are miles of underground tunnels. You barely scratched the surface.

  9. I didn't even know this island existed! Such a nice video. And such a funny girl. Greetings from Puerto Rico. Well, I went on a cruise almost a year ago to the mediterranean and some people didn't know where Puerto Rico was so I don't feel bad.

  10. I was stationed at Lajes Field from 87-89, when I first arrived I was like who did I piss off to get stuck on this Freakin Island but I quickly learned that it was Soooooo much more than that. I lived in town about 10 minutes from the base close to the beach. I could look out of my second story window to the left and see it. Right before you get to the base was a Bakery that was THE Bomb, my favorite breakfast was the Coconut Bread. Obviously I feel In Love with this Place! Wanted to go and live there for the rest of my life but circumstances didn't allow that.
