  1. I tend to dis agree, just observing from the recent southeast asian games in vietnam,as i compare it in philippines, philippine sport facilities are much better in philippines and service much better in pi,from what he say that the biggest supermarket in vietnam is korean her e in philippines it is owned by filipino, maybe filipino chinese but theyre still filipino,im proud filipino, after so many supermarkets sprouting all over philippines, miles and miles of concrete highways being constructed and philippines still no change, thats silly ideas, but some business booming in thailand and vietnam i agree are the gogobars business, thats what sexpat like, even the internet in vietnam, from i observed in latest seagames their internet also lagging, theres sewerage treatment in el nido and boracay

  2. 3. Strange guy… Criticizing the system in the Philippines and promoting the corrupt system of China or Vietnam. I am living permanent in South East Asia since 1987 and l worked in all countries he mentioned. I can't confirm what he said about buying a job in Vietnam or China. For sure it was not in Danang where l was living.
If he thinks that the Philippines didn't change he should open his eyes. Better he goes back to Vietnam or the US to your Potato State Idaho….

  4. If you enjoy listening to non-stop complaining and criticizing, you will love this video. I stayed around for over eighteen minutes and had enough, but judging by recent comments posted apparently some people were enthralled. To each his own.

  5. It's interesting Mr. Gary says that medical insurance for someone age 70+ would run him $500/month and bemoan that fact. I have very good insurance through my job where the portion I pay is about $350/month and the company subsidizes the rest at $1000/month so the total for my insurance is $1350/month. I also came to know the actual premium on the open market is even higher than $1350 since that number is a discounted rate my company was able to negotiate with the insurance company due to my company's size of 40,000+ employees.
The medical system in the US is absolutely crazy.

  6. Try searching, harald baldr philippines playlist, this youtuber went to the very remote area of the Philippines and you can see for yourself that in Php people can still do a decent conversation even in remote areas. Compare that to.the other countries mentioned! Night and day! AND how warm people are. Amazing raw footages no BS. You'd see the poorest but warm people of the Ph.

  7. Get this guy on here again! And keep him talking long time and let him go on with as much detail as possible. (You over-talked him several times!). He is a realist with LOTS of experience, all in SE Asia, under his belt. Just the kind of stuff all of us stuck here at home in the US want and need to hear. Get him back on and let him ramble. Feed him good questions but let him finish his comments fully. Get him back on.

  8. Im a Filipino and agree with him 100% . im going to retire in about few yrs ,Im contemplating of doing it in Mexico ,Philippines or even Malaysia . Yes Vietnam and Thailand have outpaced the Philippines when it comes to progress .The infrastructure between Thailand and the Phils are incomparable .Its like day and night .

  9. Respect to a guy who has such massive Asian/Pacific travel experience. He has learned so much about culture, people, politics! Thanks for this great vlog!

  10. Time for Ayala Grocery and Malls and SM Malls to have branches in Dumaguete to ease out lines in the groceries and malls. Gov. Henry Teves is getting both these companies in Dumaguete.

  11. You cannot change the Philippines but you can change yourself. Its true about wastewater treatment plants but eventually it is slowly being installed in big cities. My first job in the USA was for a Wastewater engineering consulting company.

  12. With all the different type of translator apps that are out there, I would think if you are willing to use it, it will make life much easier. actually, he just mentioned it at the 37 min mark.
