  1. As a Canadian Master Plumber, that lives in Portugal, with 35 years experience, most buildings in Portugal don't have any venting system whatsoever. Look At the roofs of the buildings in Portugal, and I dare say you won't find a vent terminal on any roof anywhere.

  2. Excellent video! Thank you for the tips and explaining the cause of the smell. I will get a dehumidifier. If you have a dehumidifier, please share the brand. Keep up the good work.

  3. Thanks Joric for covering another discreet topic that very few mention. I’ve only learned of the (lack of the) P tube issue you mention so appreciate the reinforcement in my memory bank. 🤔

  4. Thanks Joric. That's certainly a video you won't see anywhere else. One more thing to keep an eye on when it's time to find our new home in Portugal. We're from AZ so damp and mold aren't things that come to mind often.

  5. This is a lie almost all new apartments have (Sifão) or P Tubes like you guys call it. Is not rare to have it like you said in the video. In today almost all renovated houses have P tubes and is rare to have this problem…
Only the oldest apartments not renovated recently can have this problem, but is easy to solve hiring a plumber. If you guys rent a house call the owner to resolve this problem.
I live in several houses from my 20 and only one had this problem once. Me and my brother resolve it in 4 hours buying the P tube in Leroy Merlin and solve ourselves this issue, was a old house and the problem was the old washbasin.
