  1. 🙂 I’m from Amares that you visited earlier, studied in Braga and spent many happy moments in my favourite place : Gerês. (Right there is the village “Campo”.). I’m living in the UK at the moment but can’t wait to get back to those places you are visiting ! Enjoy Portugal

  4. Just one hour hike from junceda you have can climb up Pé de Cabril and have a stunning 360 degree view, including the sea and all the valleys around. Totally worth it.
Also, where you made a right turn to go up the mountain, if you keep going there's Campo do Gerês and beyond the Vilarinho das Furnas dam and the Albergaria woods, in the heart of the National Park. Too good to miss.

  5. "Terras de Bouro"- "Lands of Bouro", named after the Buri, who for generations made good use of those mountains and valleys to ward off any invaders, be it romans or other barbarian tribes, like the Vandals or Visigoths, who would eventually vanquish them. The legacy of their fighting spirit would persist well into the 17th century in the context of the Restoration War against the spaniards.

  6. You made it to Gerês!!!!! It's literally my favourite place in Portugal, it's my spiritual home. I have found memories of family days out all over the national park and as a teenager wild camping and crazy adventures in this unique place. If you can, do visit the turquoise lagoons, the water is crystal clear. There is a fabulous circular drive from the Vila do Gerês to the hot springs across in Galicia (Spain) where you can actually swim , then head across to Pitões das Junias de 2nd highest village in Portugal and an absolute gem and then down to Cabril. It's undoubtedly the most scenic route in Portugal. Of course eat locally and if you are not vegetarian then you are in for a treat, but if you are take a packed lunch! LoL

  7. very beautiful views there and it's not so usual to have a Portugueese Mountain video, as Seasides are more touristic places. I am very interested with that part of the country. Thanks for sharing it. Many treasures there. 👍🧡

  8. Over 50 years away from Portugal the most north I travel to Porto. Amazing Serra do Gerês thanks to taking me there.
You are brave to travel of beautiful places just your self.❤️💕
