48 HOURS in ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA (best things to do)

Two days in Asheville, North Carolina, had us enjoying local farm-to-table restaurants, an immersive foraging tour through the woods, and a festive afternoon exploring the Biltmore Estate. We had previously visited Asheville back in 2020 (when we were living in our van), but we cheaped out and missed all the best parts of the city, so this “redemption trip” allowed us to experience it in a completely different light. Join us for 48 hours as we continue our wellness series and enjoy the food and sights of the beautiful mountain city of Asheville. 🍂

🧺 The foraging tour we went on (and HIGHLY recommend!!!) –

Everywhere we went in Asheville:
🍳 Biscuit Head
🍸 Leo’s House of Thirst
☕️ French Broad Chocolate Lounge
🥪 Corner Kitchen
🏰 Biltmore Estate
🥘 Rhubarb

Follow along to see where we head next. 🥰

  1. So happy we were able to give Asheville another go. It is now one of our favorite cities in the States, and we hope to return to it again in the future! Anything you recommend for us to eat or do the next time we visit? 🥰

I wanted to say a special thanks for all the support on my latest art release! 🎨 If you missed it, I created a series of different pieces, inspired by this trip to Asheville and the Appalachian mountains, in general. There are a couple fun things left, so if you’re on the search for some unique holiday presents for friends and family, take a peek into my little art shop! chadandclaire.com/shop 🧺

Coming up next, a very FUN and FESTIVE “DECORATE WITH US FOR CHRISTMAS” video! 🎄We’re going to be setting up our very first Christmas tree in our new home, AND we’ll be cooking a three-course Finnish feast (!!!!!). It’s going to be the ultimate holiday video, and we can’t wait to share the cheer with you all! ❄

Catch you all next Saturday! ⛄
    Claire (and Chad)

  2. Great Video, next time we are there we will give the foraging tour a try. When we are there we enjoy breakfast in charming Black Mountain at the Open Oven Brunch and Bakery. Great food and vibe.

  3. Hi, yes, love the video, would like to learn more about the "not going to Worry about the Money" part. specifically the "How" part. I LIVE in Asheville and would love to visit these places " Not worrying about the Money " 😁🙃🦄🌠

  4. I moved to Asheville, NC, 6 yrs ago, and I'm not far from Brevard Rd, Blue Ridge Parkway area. I can think of some better things to do in 48 hrs. There are Trolley Tours, La Zoom Comedy Tours, River Arts District, Glassworks, Omi Grove, Brewing Companies, and so many other things people come here and do. The overpriced and not original Biltmore isn't as popular unless you're part of the, I think I'm high society..

  5. The Antler Hill Winery was the original Biltmore Creamery. The estate raised dairy cows and distributed fresh milk, cream, butter, and ice cream throughout the Asheville area. The underground hallway that you traversed (with the twinkle lights) was where they would keep the cows and milk jugs! So glad you loved our little city!

  6. Hi, how did you get permission to film inside, especially for commercial use in a monetized YT video? According to their website, it's not allowed. Just so u don't run into any issues… Personally I find the admission of min $69 outrageous.

  7. You guys are great and so likeable. We just binge watched a few of your videos and enjoyed them heaps. Be encouraged and keep embracing your dreams. We stumbled across your channel while looking up places we went to on our American Adventure in October… we did make it to the Smokies for peak fall. But hey, I know anxiety about things can weigh us down, but you’re doing great and we have decided to subscribe and keep following you while you’re offering your videos. Thank you. And thanks for being real, and laid back. It sure beats the shouting and “in-your-face” stuff that’s all over YouTube these days. Looking forward to seeing so much more and hoping you’re channel grows from strength to strength.

  8. Ehh, I hate this town. Used to be decent. Moved to Cali for a few years for firefighting and come back to a place that's a train wreck where the city has literally killed itself. Has so many people but not enough room and the city still says come on in, we have room😂🤣 Homeless od daily, violent crimes is high af. Radio lights up every hour or so on overdoses, robberies, shootings, and overall all the lovely things you see in a failed city. Visit if you want but don't stay😂🤣

  9. Sadly downtown Asheville has become home to homeless junkies….It's not the safe city it used to be….The drug addicts are on nearly every corner panhandling in downtown…So sad it's charm is fading away…..

  10. I like the Biltmore Estate, I go all the time. They change the Christmas decorations ever year, so it's always different. The most wonderful time is at Easter, when the tulips and azaleas are in bloom. The grounds are amazing in the Spring. I would also like to add that Chimney Rock has the flowering bridge which is also beautiful and fun. The arboretum has a fun holiday light display.

  11. I've lived in Asheville NC my entire life the Biltmore house is a joke cost too much to see n nothing worth seeing anything truly worth coming to Asheville to see the Biltmore house has had the city council get rid of it

  12. I Love your travel channel. Although, I would really like to see updates that you did at your new place too. You had many plans. I think your family was helping you too. Have fun and it is ok to have coffee.

  13. I LOVE Asheville and I haven't been to any of the places that y'all went to except the Biltmore! There are so, so many fabulous places to eat and drink! We were hoping to go before Christmas this year but with a new grandbaby just arriving our family needs a little extra help with the older ones! So maybe next year! Thanks for taking us along as always! Beautiful video! Safe travels!

  14. Wish people would stop boosting this overrated, under funded town. Horrible roads, virtually zero police, out of towners routinely driving on the Interstate 20 and 30 miles over the speed limit, risking all our lives. Nothing but hotels everywhere you look but no affordable housing and homeless people under every bridge and at almost every corner. Trash blowing all over every road. Angry drivers cutting you off, flipping you off, and worse. The most out of control housing prices but salaries below living wage for nearly every job here. If you have lots of money and you're white you'll probably love it. If you crave diversity and an affordable standard of living, look elsewhere. PS forgot to mention, in this little town of mostly liberal Progressive people, to step outside of town more than 3-5 miles is risking your life with all the angry white men recklessly driving big loud trucks plastered with Trump 2024 stickers too fast in order to compensate for their tiny genitalia.

  15. Oh yes Chad, both Claire and a great relationship like you 2 have, is way more precious than any mansion. And there's a lot of stress running a mansion. I have a friend who has one. It's like running a big complicated business at your home! No time to relax. And forget most joys of travel. You two are the lucky ones 🌞🎶

  16. Mr. John, our friend from the laundromat, wanted me to tell you long ago, "You don't actually drink up the whole glass of wine during wine testing. You could easily get drunk doing that!" 🙂

  17. Loved your video! My wife and I, could be your parents, hell, maybe even your grand parents! We both saw this and wish we were you! Maybe next lifetime…. Anyway, y’all look like ya love each other. STAY THAT WAY! Mt wife and I have been married for 43 years! Our secret, we don’t fight! Do not stop what you are doing! (Did ya notice that every statement I wrote ended in an exclamation point? Except that last one and this one. And the dot dot dot thing. Think about it! Love ya!

  18. Your video of Asheville, North Carolina was sensational. This is the first time that I have spent anytime in Asheville enough though it was through your travel vlog. It felt as though we were foraging the forest with you. We even were taken the restaurant where you dined on what you naturally collected in the forest. The food looked delicious! All the food looked as exotic or tantalizing as the food abroad. If that were not enough, then the tour of the Biltmore Estate was something else. I guess I am getting an education of my own country. Thanks Chad and Clair!
