The “Golden Beach” is the main beach in the center of Sesimbra. It stretches from the port to a 17th-century fort, which separates it from Praia da Califórnia. It’s a favorite destination for the people of Lisbon on weekends, and, due to its shallow, clean and calm waters, it’s known as one of the most family-friendly beaches in Portugal. It can be quite crowded in the summer.
