With its backdrop made up of a long cliff colored in hues of red, copper, and gold, and of particular beauty, as the afternoon draws to a close, this far-reaching extent of sand covers the kilometers between Olhos de Água and Vilamoura, incorporating several different beaches.

The stretch known as Falésia (Cliff) or Açoteias (after the nearby tourist resort) Beach is in the central area. Here, with a good standard of access via a tarmac road, the sea is calm and a favorite for all kinds of nautical sports for those seeking something more than the pleasures of sunbathing.
