  1. Thank you very much for your informative content on youtube. I was wondering if you happen to know a website besides idealista that you would recommend for searching for rental/commercial properties that are qualified for the golden visa application process in Portugal.

    Many thanks in advance!

  2. Thank you both . such a great video . We live just outside Silves and both from the UK . Your tips are perfect as we are on the same journey . Your honesty and delivery is perfect. We have been here since 2020. Sure we will bump into you sometime . Keep up the good work . We love this country too .

  3. Hi Glen and Glenda, I've been loving your videos. I'm planning my move in the next 2-3 years. … Question. Many retired people like myself (I'm 58) have paid off their homes in the US. With the price of homes in Portugal being so much less, wouldn't it be a better idea to just buy a house cash? (That is, selling my US home first while renting in Portugal for a while.) Any of your thoughts would be appreciated.

  4. 1) You must hire a lawyer: I understand why foreigners feel safer hiring a lawyer when they buy a house in Portugal, but no Portuguese hires a lawyer to buy a house.

    2) You can have a real estate agent acting "on the buyer's side" if you want, although the Portuguese themselves rarely do that. Just tell any real estate agent the type of house you're looking for and ask them to search for you. It won't cost you anything. If you end up buying a house, the seller's agent will simply split his commission with "your" agent (because he/she brought the buyer). Personally, I find it irritating to have an extra person meddling in the buying process.

  5. You 2 seem like the nicest and kindest couple 😀 Welcome to Portugal, Again! And come to the north to try the Wine and to visit the Douro Landscapes. There are some unbelieavable places.
