Here are some reasons why we love Tavira:

1. Tavira is one of the most charming towns in the Algarve. It still isn’t as populated as the more popular parts of the region but it has definitely been growing.

2. The weather! The Algarve typically enjoys around 300 days of sunshine a year. Even when temperatures drop in the winter, they usually never fall under around 55° F or 13° C

3. Booming expat community. The Algarve as a whole is home to over 100k expats. Though Tavira is small, the expat community is still thriving making it easier to adapt to a new life in Portugal.

4. Nature and entertainment. You can take an easy ferry ride to a beautiful whited sanded beach. You’re also just a short drive from more beaches along the coast. There are many hiking trails in the surrounding areas along with plenty of golf courses.

5. Accessibility – If you live in the center, you won’t need a car. You have just about everything you could need right at your doorstep. If you do plan to drive, the roads are easy to navigate and well maintained.
