ALGARVE PORTUGAL 🇵🇹 | The BEAUTIFUL Eastern Algarve and BEACHES

The Algarve Portugal is one of the top destinations for vacationers and holiday travelers throughout Europe. After spending two days exploring the towns and beaches of the beautiful eastern Algarve, we can definitely see why! Join us in the video where we take you to the towns of Monte Gordo, Vila Real de Santo Antonio, and Ayamonte, Spain!

On our second day visiting, we decided to rent bikes in Monte Gordo – a must-do if visiting! After spending time exploring the beautiful beach resort town of Monte Gordo, we rode through a pine forest, with great walking and biking trails. Down this trail, not far from the crowded beaches we end up at one of the most amazing white sandy beaches! Back on our bikes, we follow the trail to the wonderful town of Vila Real de Santo Antonio. this town is a popular town for retirees and less touristy than some others but ranks as one of our favorites in this area!

A quick foot ferry ride across the river and you’ll find yourself in Spain, in the small town of Ayamonte. When first arriving on the ferry it didn’t appear there would be much to see here. But we didn’t have to walk far to find ourselves surrounded by beautiful architecture, great restaurants, and plenty of shopping. The town square is a must-see and a great view to grab a sangria and some tapas. We were surprised just how much we loved this town, and sure hope to return.

#retireearly #fulltimetravel #digitalnomads

After a 3-week trip to Portugal together we found ourselves with the #travelbug ! Soon after returning home, we started researching ways we could travel the world on a budget. A few short years later, we quit our jobs and now #traveltheworld full-time. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences as a #travelcouple in hopes of inspiring others to do the same and follow their dream.

  1. We had such a great time exploring the Eastern end of the Algarve and taking the foot ferry to Spain for the day! We will be heading to the West side of the Algarve in the next week – are there any areas you would like to see? Let us know in the comments below!
    Cheers🍻

  2. Nice video you are doing a great job at explaining how easy it is to have your kind of lifestyle. The town you went to in Spain looked lovely. The Algarve and Southern Spain are both cold for a few months in winter. If you can look into the Canary Islands where it is mild during the winter. I am really looking forward to your take on Southeast Asia. I spent my honeymoon in Koh Samui and while I loved it would not want to make it my base. For me Spain is the best country. Away from the coast properties are cheap and the lifestyle is excellent.

  3. About 3 months ago you stated that you would probably never get back to Spain…and looky looky you did. Bikes were a good choice. We rented bikes in Valancia Spain and loved it. I bet you guys walk a lot. Exercise and a pint. ok…Cheers.

  4. Loved the video I live near Ayamonte but spend a lot of time over the border in Portugal. Its a great area to live Different cultures and different cuisine all within a 10 minute drive

  5. 9:53 Sorry if it’s discussed already but what is with all the boats that are on the beach? [EDIT: adding timestamp] >>> googled… those seem to be "traditional fishing boats" in some things I found online. didn't think they looked like that, though….

  6. When I was in the Algarve a little over 5 years ago, I really only explored the western part. And though I fell in love with that area, it looks like I need to come back and spend some time in the eastern part as well. And the proximity to Spain is a nice bonus. Loved the video. You two are definitely making me want to start doing what you are doing sooner than the planned 2-3 years from now. Keep nudging. 😅 Now what the hell am I going to do from now until Thursday when your next video comes out? 😅 Cheers! 🍻

  7. This is great! We visited VRSA in November 2021 but didn’t have enough time to visit Ayamonte or Monte Gordo — so this is a great video! We’ll visit next trip. Thank you. 👍🏻
