This summer were amazing in Sweden.
I guess it's warm for us living here and are used to it but for foreigners used to having much warmer summers it may feel cold. This summer we almost hit a new record, not only that, in Stockholm at least the air were so sultry even a african riding on the same buss as my mom said that this was warmer than in Africa because in Africa the wind cooled you down but not here during this sultry period.

Its never ever been warm enough to have an AC in Denmark. But I do love the warm weather and most of the time it’s cold enough for me to wear a sweater all through the summer.

The building I live in was built about a 100 years ago (in 1924) and have really thick brick and mortar walls. It's a blessing on hot days, it's really cool inside.

Many modern Danish homes have HVAC system. But they are really not used for cooling, as this would be incredibly expensive. Electricity costs something like 4 times as much, of what it costs in the US.

And we don't really need AC. We adapt. We just had a month of +25°C or 77°F. Hot, but it's only when it goes above 30 or 85°F, it's unbearable. But we don't experience that every year.

This is like all the American comments / vids about the U.K. about the same issue.

Hi dar in France we have no ac too it's mostly because the point of USA the most in noth except Alaska is still in the far south metropolitan France so we don't need ac in house even in the french Riviera

Actually many homes in Norway have an air-condition, since we have installed a heat pump, which can be reversed and used as an air-condition. We normally use it a few days during summer, partly because we have a samoyed dog with a lot of fur, but also for our own comfort. In Norway most people heat their homes by woodstoves and electricity. We have plenty of hydropower, but now it is sent to Europe, so the price of electricity has multiplied several times in the last few months, so that will possibly change if our politicians don't stop the steal. The hydropower is owned by the people, and it is outrageous that they can allow such treason. A heat pump reduces our electricity bills significantly, so it has become quite common, especially in detached and semi-detached houses.

Finland does not have air conditioning. It would be unusual to have 80 degrees Fahrenheit in Helsinki. FYI Canada has 30 plus degree celcius/ 85 degree Farenheit in summer including Northen Canada. Today it was 34 degrees Celsius in central Canada.

More trees and nature mixed in to the city and well insulated buildings. Open windows in the night when it’s cooler and closed during the day, everyone knows that…And scandinavians is not bothered by the midnightsun

Probably because Summer for us usually means 70-85 F on a GOOD day (or well 70-80 is more likely). This Summer, at least in my part of Norway (west coast, between the south and middle) the temperature fluctuated more in the 50s and 60s, with the occasional nod above 70 (ironically while the rest of Europe seemed to be burning up). I hardly even turned on my fan at all this year. AC would be a total waste of money.

The temperatures you spoke about is to much for me, I prefer when it is around 70-75F. I have like you become more sensitive to heat as I get older. For me, it might be 3 weeks per year when the temperatur is so high that I would like to have an AC.

One thing I like with living in Sweden is that you most of the time have a park in a 5 minutes walk. (Maybe 10 min if you are in the city center).

The Danish cooling buildings with sea water was new to me.

They keep saying "Oh, because it's so cold, so cold, so cold" but fact of the matter is, it's not as cold as Minnesota or the northern New England region. It doesn't get as warm either but it's definitely not that cold.

Apartment buildings in Sweden are usually made of stone or something but most regular houses are made of wood.

Most homes in Norway are not made of bricks, but wood.
