Currently in Tigre in Argentina since the end of November 22, I´m living in Coimbra Calhabé, so I´ll be in Lisbon the 27th of December to let my stuff in Coimbra. 70 years old widower, but not the common one. Two NDE´s on board, so that´s different. I call Madeira "heaven on earth", but the mudslides & the "banana line" are to be respected. I dont like big cities cause of driving & waiting. The plan is to see the fireworks 2023 in Funchal, so let´s look at your video & Santo Antônio.
Super helpful information! One thing you definitely notice in Sao Martinho is the amount of construction everywhere and nearly everything is large condo complexes. I'm leaning towards a quieter area and while I know a car is a must for me to have easy full island access, I'm thinking a moped/small motorcycle might be perfect for quick trips around town and easy parking.

yes, send them all to funchal..this way people that really like tranquility can go in the more beautiful and peaceful smaller villages. Thanks to highways you can get to funchal from any point on the island from anywhere between 5 to 30 mins driving anyways.
