Are We Rich? Let's Talk INCOME Streams – ASK #009

How are we funding our Portugal renovation project? Are we rich? Do we work? Where does our money come from? Did we receive some kind of inheritance or win the lottery? Let’s talk finances and how we are able to afford to do this project and live a simple – yet comfortable – life.

Click here for more about our story, how we built a new life for ourselves, and how you can follow a similar path (whether you want to move to another country or not)

  1. How rude are some people.
When I tell people to spend less than they earn they look at you like your speaking a strange language. They don’t get paying down dept is the first step to self sufficiency

  2. I ran across your channel quite by accident, because I'm thinking of moving out of the USA in the near future, and I was researching Portugal as a "maybe". . I love what I've seen, and the housing is very inexpensive as apposed to the U.S. I've been binge watching your channel now, and love all the down to earth content you are talking about. You are answering all the questions I didn't know I wanted to know about! lol. . Thank you for that! I love your crocheting! GREAT job! My mother taught me how to crochet when I was a young girl, and I've done it off and on now for MANY years! You did an amazing job on that "Foot Puff" as you call it! lol. . I love that! Looking forward to watching more of what you are doing 🙂

  3. Really brilliant!!! Very similar to my project mean there s some bases of income like you as rent flats in my country, 2nd guesthousing for 4/5 months/year some small veggies production sell directly on market and some creative workshop stuff ideas….
You just applied original idea of Permaculture:-)

  4. Hi, I am living n Portugal and am really enjoying your vlogs. I learn't to crochet last year at our local knit and Natter group and have found a good range of zips including long ones at the chinese supermarkets.

  5. YKK makes something called "contiuous zippers". I found them on several German websites where you can buy them by the metre – and I suppose they sell the same product in Portugal, too.

  6. Hi Kylie, avid knitter, yarn dyer and seamstress here, have you found a zipper yet? The google-able term is endless zippers. I only know a couple of online shops in Austria and Germany (Endlosreißverschluss), I'm sure you'll find a shop closer to you.

  7. I am sure you know about this but I thought I would pass it along. You can make a great pet safe cleaner using the peels from your oranges. Just fill a large mason jar with orange peel then fill the jar with white distilled vinegar. Let it sit for 2 to 3 weeks. Then mix it 50/50 with water in a spray bottle. Great all purpose cleaner.😊

  8. Could snaps work instead of a zipper I think it might even work a little better for you than a zipper.Buttons with a crochet loop to go around the button just some ideas. Love your vlog and keep living the good life.💖😊💖You might have to sew some fabric to your crochet to put the snaps on.

  9. I love all that you do. I feel exhausted watching you but I love your work ethic. I know you are going to cover rain water harvesting later, but what water systems were historically used before mains water was plumbed in? Was the holding tank for rainwater or just well water?
