Avenida da Liberdade – Upscale neighbourhood with a vibrant feel

Built as a park in the 18th century and converted in the 19th into the high-end boulevard we know today, Avenida da Liberdade is one of Lisbon’s main arteries and a prime location for luxury seekers. It was designed after Paris’s own Champs-Élysées, yet Avenida da Liberdade has much more to offer than meets the eye.

The wide avenue connects Marquês de Pombal and Avenidas Novas to Baixa, and is well-known for its colossal line-up of Lisbon’s best designer shops, five-star hotels and fabulous restaurants. There are also more down-to-earth cafés and shops, but the gist at Avenida da Liberdade is you can be — and buy — whatever you want here.
