Avleen Kaur (b.1990) is a female Indian artist based in Toronto, Canada.

“The themes of my paintings are based on our solitary and collective human experience. The absurd Kafka-esque everyday experience that we find ourselves in- aware or unaware allows for a lot of space to dwell in and to extract from. My experience growing up as a woman in India exists in stark and absurd comparison to the western world where I now reside. To simultaneously participate and empathise with social issues in Canada while having to continuously maneuver my family and relationships in India is a whirlpool of emotion and self analysis.”

PADA is an Art Residency & Gallery based in a post-industrial site near Lisbon, Portugal.
