Visiting a World Top 100 Beach in the Algarve, Portugal: Praia da Marinha (Marinha Beach). This place was seriously one of our favourite spots in all of the Algarve and if you’re staying in Carvoeiro, Albufeira, or anywhere else nearby… this should be on your list!
As it was our last day, we decided to have a more chilled one and head to our favourite beach of the whole trip. We left Carvoeiro and did the short drive to Praia da Marinha (Marinha Beach) where we were lucky to get a space in the (free!) car park.
Before going down the steps to the beach, we walked along part of the hiking trail atop the cliffs and checked out the beautiful, calm, blue ocean from this vantage point. We were also able to see the heart shape carved out of the rocks and cliffs and snap a quick picture. Hannah was less impressed than I was 😂
After this we headed down to the beach with a stop in the cafe on the way. We LOVED the toasties here – partially because of the amount of butter they use – and we wanted to get one last one before heading home.
Most of the rest of the day was spent relaxing, sunbathing, and swimming on the beach. I also got the drone up for some epic aerial shots of Praia da Marinha, and these are definitely some of my favourite from this whole trip in the Algarve. What a difference it makes when the sea is calmer and not being churned up by big waves (as we’d had for the rest of the week)!
Finally, we watched the most incredible sunset from our balcony back in Carvoeiro. The sky was on fire!!
