One thing that isn't mentioned is that when you purchase a property overseas, you won't have access to credit to get a mortgage. You will have to pay cash upfront, which is not really the problem with me, it's the high risk of getting ripped off.

I lived in Mexico before. It was scary living there. The Cartels were taking over land desired by them by force. I’m so glad I sold our house, before it became very dangerous to live there. Now people I know have been murdered by shootings from the cartels. I’ve eaten in restaurants where El Chapo had his dinners. I seen him once eating at the same restaurant we used to visit. There was a presence to him, even though the local police were there with him. This happened in Sonora, Mexico.
