Cleaning Up an Abandoned Ruin Before Renovation On My Farm In Central Portugal | Part 3

Hi guys, I am Alex.

I am an Ukrainian expat who moved to Portugal.
No one in my family ever did any farming, But I discovered that I am very passionate about farming so recently I’ve purchased this 28 hectares Farm in Central Portugal, with the intention to start a small scale farm raising worms, cows and sheep.

In this little farm I am also planning to build an off-grid home, and be as self sufficient as possible, by growing my own food.

I created this channel to share my journey with the world, The journey of a first generation farmer, that is starting with no prior knowledge and experiences.
That maybe all the mistakes that I will make along this journey, and all the fails maybe will help some of you to learn from my mistake and not make them yourself.
I want to bring value and inspire people who are thinking about farming.

I am not a filmmaker or an editor, I am just a simple guy with a camera.

In this video, My father and I will be continue to clean one of the abandoned ruins on the farm, so we can prepare it and start renovating it.
We will start with removing the roof and then cleaning up the layer of debris and roof tiles, and finally finishing up the cleaning 😀
We will be renovating it and reconstructing it by ourselves, so there will be videos of that in the future too 🙂

So if it is interesting to you, subscribe to the channel and you will not miss the upcoming episodes.

  1. I enjoy watching you clean up because I love to organize and tidy things myself. I appreciate people who have the skills to reuse something, even something as big as an old stone building. Congratulations on your property, the stone buildings are beautiful and I hope you find peace.

  2. I love a good time lapse…and seeing transformations…you do a great job and I'm enjoying getting caught up on your vlogs. It nice you have a work buddy with you Dad. How does he feel about being on YouTube? You are correct…do it right the first time…it will save time in the end…and to reuse everything you can is being respectful of the planet.

  3. Alex because of the way you and your father do things is the reason u will have a big following. I watch a few different videos of people fixing up their ruins and I have to say that yours is beautiful already. Can’t wait to c what u do. I’ve watched all of your videos and will continue. God bless

  5. I love to watch the clearing just as much as the building it's exciting to see where you started and however long it takes is entirely your business and you should never rush the process "Rome wasn't built in a day" I look forward to following your journey and thanks for letting us xx

  6. Greetings from Missouri, USA. Blessings to you and your father in this endeavor. Your buildings will look beautiful and be functional as well. Keep the cart intact and restore it. I reclaimed an old home and restored it and cleared the land

  7. That was a monumental task clearing the bramble jungle by hand, well done. Your respect for the environment and nature is admirable as well as your honest dialogue with us. Regards to you and your and your Dad.

Later on, if possible, give us a tour of the surroundings in another video, please.
Do you use Instagram as well?

Good luck with your journey (and be patient with yourself) 😊🙌🏽💚🍀

  10. I enjoy cleaning. I wish I can fly there and help you guys with the clearing. I'm just like your father I think, we can't sit around watching other people do things. Instead we are eager to join and help. But as for now I can only watch you do your progress. Good luck and we are here rooting for your project and anticipating for what ever comes next. Stay cool Alex.

  11. By the way, it's late spring /early summer, right? Maybe think of pruning your olive trees? Maybe not expecting a big revenue from the trees we see in the background but there might be a little more in the other areas ?

  12. Really interesting. I like people cleaning up the environment in the EU with their own hands. Subscribed.
I used to be subscribed to a lot of homestead builders in Portugal, but I unsubbed as soon as they started to play real estate agent and began advertising other property and milking the audience. At some point – around 20k subs – most do. We'll see how it goes here.

  13. Oh I do love surprises, great to find the cart and another shed? :-). I am very happy to see you cleaning and clearing, there's a weird satisfaction seeing the results once you're done. You also have the option of showing part of the clearing, and then the after, all depending on how long you want the video to be and whether you have filmed something else that you want to show.
